Full-Time Animal Care Attendant Jobs in St. Catharines at Lock One Animal Hospital
Lock One Animal Hospital is a small animal hospital serving the people and pets of the Niagara region in the north end of St. Catharines. Our goal is to provide the most compassionate and personalized care to all of our patients, to maintain clear and friendly communication with all of our pet parents, and to maintain a happy and thriving team.
We are currently looking for a motivated, animal-loving full-time Animal Care Attendant to join our friendly and enthusiastic team. Ideally, we are looking for an applicant that is experienced working within a veterinary clinic, as there will be both team-related and autonomous job responsibilities required, where experience will be invaluable, but enthusiastic and driven applicants lacking experience are welcome to apply!
Interest in pursuing further education in veterinary care (ACA, RVT, or DVM) is also a plus, but not required.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Assisting RVTs and Veterinarians with examinations and treatments
– Friendly and compassionate client communication, both on the phone and in person
– Providing high quality and safe in-clinic patient care

Maintaining a clean and safe workplace, including general cleaning of both treatment and client areas
– Creating and following care plans for patients
Job Requirements
– Be comfortable and capable in handling, restraining and safely lifting animals
– Have excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
– Be comfortable working in a medical environment, including interactions with surgeries
– Have the ability to maintain calm in the face of busy and stressful situations
– Be able to function well both within team settings as well as being self-motivated when working autonomously
– Have a good sense of problem solving and an even better sense of humour!
Position is full-time (40 hours per week)
Clinic hours are 8am – 6pm, Monday to Friday. Shifts are 9 hours including 1 hour unpaid lunch.
Starting wage: $17-20/hr. commensurate with experience
