Forestry Specialist
Location: Lee County and Surrounding Area
Job Type: Full-Time, Entry-Level
Reports to: Crew Lead
Position Overview:
PRF is seeking a Forestry Specialist for Lee County and surrounding Counties of North Carolina. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in forestry services or for the experienced while working independently in outdoor environments. The work involves a variety of forestry-related tasks that contribute to environmental sustainability and community safety.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and mark danger trees along transmission utility lines.
- Conduct data collection and pre-planning activities.
- Communicate project notifications and updates with private landowners.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and participate in ongoing training.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Forestry or a related field required (Bachelor’s degree in Forestry preferred).
- 1+ years of experience in Forestry, Natural Resources, or Utility Vegetation Management.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong computer and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with co-workers in field conditions.
- Self-motivated to work diligently in various outdoor conditions.
- Willingness to take the required company safety courses (quarterly & yearly).
- Participate in on-the-job performance evaluations.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly pay: $19 hour
