As a Flooring Installer Assistant (General Labour) at Moore Flooring + Design you will work along side our team of awesome installers. In this energetic role, you will support skilled flooring installers by preparing work sites, handling tools, and assisting with various installation tasks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on construction experience, develop valuable skills in flooring installation and contribute to high-quality project outcomes. Duties
- Assist flooring installers in the preparation and installation of various types of flooring, including hardwood, laminate, and vinyl
- Lift and move flooring materials and boxes to designated areas.
- Use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and saws to support flooring installation tasks
- Help set up and break down job sites.
- Help with surface preparation tasks like leveling subfloors and applying caulking or adhesives as needed
- Carry materials, tools, and equipment safely around the work site to ensure efficiency and safety
- Assist in moving furniture and tear out when required.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste properly
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by the lead installer or supervisor.
Requirements
- Basic familiarity with hand tools used in construction or flooring projects
- Previous construction or handyman experience is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods during shifts
- Strong work ethic with attention to safety procedures at all times
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively as part of a team
- Knowledge of flooring installation techniques or carpentry skills is a plus
- Willingness to develop skills in tile laying, blueprint reading, caulking, and other related tasks
