Position Summary
Panhandle Carpet One is seeking a skilled Flooring Installer to join our team as an in-house employee serving our growing property management, apartment, and commercial maintenance accounts.
This position focuses on apartment turns, rental property repairs, occupied-unit service work, warranty repairs, and smaller installation projects requiring quick response times and consistent workmanship. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, professional, and experienced in multiple flooring types.
Responsibilities
- Install and repair:
- Carpet
- Carpet pad
- Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP)
- Sheet vinyl
- Laminate flooring
- Transitions and trim
- Complete apartment turnovers and rental unit flooring replacements.
- Perform flooring repairs and warranty service work.
- Remove and dispose of existing flooring materials.
- Complete basic floor preparation, including:
- Patching
- Grinding
- Leveling compounds
- Minor subfloor repairs
- Communicate professionally with tenants, property managers, and homeowners.
- Accurately document completed work with photos and job notes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow company installation standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Assist with warehouse or delivery duties when needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Flooring installation experience.
- Ability to install carpet and LVP independently.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred
- Experience with apartment turnover work.
- Experience in sheet vinyl installation.
- Floor preparation experience.
- Basic carpentry and trim skills.
- Knowledge of moisture testing and flooring industry standards.
- Experience interacting with tenants and property managers.
