Our growth is unprecedented, and we are looking for a Fire & Explosion Investigator / Electrical Engineer to join our Forensic group primarily in the role of a fire investigator who will be part of an

This position will report to the Director of Forensics.

, passionate electrical engineer (P.Eng) or an electrical engineer in training (EIT) to

join our growing team

.

Job Description

Conduct on-site investigations of structure fires or electrical equipment failures.

Provide written reports with a professional opinion regarding the origin and cause of the fire or electrical failure

Perform laboratory examinations of electrical/electronic equipment to assess if equipment may have been a cause of a loss and determine the failure mechanism if applicable

Complete joint examinations and analysis of electrical or mechanical malfunctions.

Travel throughout Ontario and possibly other locations on short notice Manage multiple projects simultaneously

Provide expert testimony in court when required

Provide technical review and analysis to our clients as required

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university and a Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or an Engineer in Training (EIT) in Ontario. Those who hold a CFEI, CVFI, or CFI would be of high interest for this position. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Engineer in Training (EIT) Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) or working toward the required certificate

Demonstrate an understanding of engineering principles and theory and the ability to apply this knowledge to solve unique design scenarios and remedy field issues, as well as conduct forensic evaluations;

Candidates are expected to have very good verbal English

communication skills

Capable of writing detailed technical reports;

Disciplined individual with excellent

attention to detail

;

Ability to

work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions

Have a driver’s license, suitable vehicle, and willingness to drive within the GTA and surrounding area;

Salary Range

: $70,000 – $95,000 per year

Potential bonus structure based on performance
