LushScapes is a high-end fine gardening and seasonal color company serving discerning residential and commercial clients across the Charleston area. We don’t do large commercial contracts or cookie-cutter installs — we do thoughtful, design-forward plantings executed to an exacting standard. Every basket, pot, window box, and bed gets our full attention.
We’re growing, and we’re looking for a gardener who takes genuine pride in plant health, presentation, and craft. If you find yourself studying a container arrangement and noticing what’s off — and knowing how to fix it — this role is for you.
What you’ll do
- Install and maintain seasonal color in containers, hanging baskets, window boxes, and garden beds — 2–4 times per year and as clients request
- Perform ongoing plant care: pruning, deadheading, fertilization, and monitoring for pest and disease issues
- Assist with planting layout, design refreshes, and seasonal transitions
- Work with irrigation and drip systems, making adjustments as conditions change
- Carry out broader fine gardening and landscape maintenance — cleanups, bed management, and general grounds care on existing client properties
- Maintain the level of detail and presentation that LushScapes clients expect
Who we’re looking for
- Genuine interest in plants, horticulture, and fine gardening — you notice and care about quality
- Detail-oriented and takes pride in the finished result, not just completing the task
- Reliable, self-directed, and able to manage your time on site without constant supervision
- Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Works well both independently and as part of a small skilled team
- Positive attitude toward learning, feedback, and doing things the right way
- Clean driving record required
- 1+ year of professional gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance experience preferred — but we will absolutely consider motivated candidates with strong plant knowledge and a track record of quality work
Compensation & benefits
- $22–$27/hour, based on experience, plant knowledge, and ability to work independently — experienced gardeners are compensated at the top of the range
