Our client is a leader in advancing North America’s critical minerals supply chain for lithium-ion batteries. The Company’s primary focus is constructing North America’s only cobalt sulfate refinery, as part of a phased strategy to onshore critical minerals refining and reduce reliance on foreign supply chains.

In addition to the Refinery, they hold a significant land package in Idaho’s Cobalt Belt, including its Iron Creek project and surrounding properties, positioning the Company as a potential cornerstone for North American cobalt and copper production. They are also advancing black mass recycling opportunities to recover critical materials from end-of-life batteries, while continuing to evaluate growth opportunities in nickel refining and other downstream battery materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Below is a list of primary duties and responsibilities for the Financial Analyst position:

  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial models;
  • Prepare monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis and provide commentary on key drivers and trends;
  • Support cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning;
  • Assist with the preparation of management reporting packages for executive leadership and the Board of Directors;
  • Analyze operating and capital expenditures to support decision-making and cost control initiatives;
  • Monitor key performance indicators (“KPIs”) and support performance reporting;
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close processes through preparation of analyses and reporting schedules including accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries;
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities;
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of government funding claims, compliance reports, and supporting documentation;
  • Track eligible expenditures related to government funding agreements and incentive programs;
  • Maintain funding trackers and reporting schedules to ensure compliance with contractual requirements;
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to gather required information for funding claims and reporting;
  • Assist with audit requests and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies;
  • Participate in ERP implementations/system improvements;
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by management; and,
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent field;
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience FP&A, financial analysis, accounting, or corporate finance;
  • Experience working with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis;
  • Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights;
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally; and,
  • Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Rate of Pay: Annual salary range of $70,000-$90,000, commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
