Job Summary
Commercial Fire is seeking a motivated, independent Field Service Technician to join our nationwide Life Safety team. In this role, you will travel weekly to service some of the country’s most well-known restaurant, retail, and hospitality chains. Operating primarily Sunday through Thursday during evening and overnight hours, you will be responsible for the specialized pressure cleaning and maintenance of commercial kitchen exhaust systems. This is a dynamic, active field position offering comprehensive on-the-job training, high earning potential through a commission structure, and a full benefits package.
Position Overview
- Schedule: Sunday – Thursday (Evening and Night shifts)
- Travel: Weekly travel required; routes service a radius of 150+ miles
- Compensation: Full-Time | Commission-based (High earning potential)
- Experience: No prior experience required; full on-the-job training is provided
Responsibilities
As a Field Service Technician, your primary objective is to eliminate fire hazards by keeping commercial kitchens compliant and safe. A typical shift includes:
- Travel & Route Management: Drive to various customer locations within your designated 150+ mile territory, ensuring timely arrival for scheduled overnight services.
- System Preparation & Deep Cleaning: Set up specialized pressure washing equipment, protect customer kitchens with plastic draping, and utilize chemical degreasers to pressure-wash kitchen exhaust hoods, ductwork, and rooftop fans.
- Component Maintenance: Remove, clean, and replace exhaust filters, ensuring the entire ventilation system functions at peak efficiency.
- Rooftop & Facility Safety Checks: Access commercial roof areas to inspect and clean exhaust fans, checking for proper operation, grease containment, and structural safety.
- Quality Assurance & Documentation: Review completed work to ensure it meets strict National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, taking digital photos of the clean system to document compliance for the client.
- Job Site Cleanup: Thoroughly clean and restore the customer’s kitchen area post-service, leaving it spotless and ready for their morning operations.
