What you’ll do

  • Provide field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in areas of installation, testing, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification of electrical power distribution equipment.
  • Self‑manage assigned projects for electrical equipment.
  • Know and use electrical test and diagnostic equipment.
  • Deliver technical solutions to customers.
  • Perform less conventional complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations.
  • Skilled proficiency in:
    • Basic Test Equipment Operation
    • Basic Troubleshooting Techniques
    • Intermediate Test Equipment Operation
    • Advanced Troubleshooting Techniques

Basic Qualifications

  • Post‑secondary education degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technologist / CET from an accredited institution.
  • 1–3 years of experience evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
  • Local business travel to customer sites required.
  • Business travel to United States for training on safety and Eaton products required.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
  • No relocation assistance is provided.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician.

Skills for Success

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem‑solving skills.
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective time management, prioritization and project management skills.
  • Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Understanding of the company’s and competitors’ electrical, electronic and mechanical products.
  • Experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis is highly desirable.
  • Experience with protective relays is highly desirable.

Salary and Benefits

  • Expected annual salary range: $69,000 – $87,000.
  • Eligible for overtime compensation.
