What you’ll do
- Provide field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in areas of installation, testing, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification of electrical power distribution equipment.
- Self‑manage assigned projects for electrical equipment.
- Know and use electrical test and diagnostic equipment.
- Deliver technical solutions to customers.
- Perform less conventional complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations.
- Skilled proficiency in:
- Basic Test Equipment Operation
- Basic Troubleshooting Techniques
- Intermediate Test Equipment Operation
- Advanced Troubleshooting Techniques
Basic Qualifications
- Post‑secondary education degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technologist / CET from an accredited institution.
- 1–3 years of experience evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
- Local business travel to customer sites required.
- Business travel to United States for training on safety and Eaton products required.
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
- No relocation assistance is provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician.
Skills for Success
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem‑solving skills.
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective time management, prioritization and project management skills.
- Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.
- Understanding of the company’s and competitors’ electrical, electronic and mechanical products.
- Experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems is highly desirable.
- Experience performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis is highly desirable.
- Experience with protective relays is highly desirable.
Salary and Benefits
- Expected annual salary range: $69,000 – $87,000.
- Eligible for overtime compensation.
