The Fiber Optic Technician is responsible for the installation of fiber optic cables for telecommunications services. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and physical capability, particularly when working at heights and with specialized equipment.
Job Description:
– Install fiber optic cables in aerial environments
– Install aerial fibre optic cable on new and existing strand
– Install messenger wire and lash fiber optic cables
– Install guy wires
– Install on existing third-party messenger or over lash on existing third-party cable
– Install slack loops
– Pulling and tensioning fiber optic cables
– Install grounds
– Install riser with U-Guards
– Install fiber and associated hardware.
Qualifications:
– Operate bucket trucks and other specialized equipment.
– Climb utility poles as necessary to perform cabling and other related tasks.
– Use tools and equipment required for fiber optic cable installation and maintenance.
– Always adhere to strict safety standards and company policies, particularly when working with electrical equipment and at elevated heights.
– Work collaboratively with other linemen to ensure successful fiber optic network deployment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Experience:
- fiber/aeriel optic cable: 3 years (required)
- bucket truck: 3 years (preferred)
