We are seeking a dedicated Farm Labourer to join our agricultural team. This role involves supporting daily farm operations, maintaining equipment, and assisting with crop production activities. Duties
- Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops according to seasonal schedules
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and power tools safely and efficiently
- Perform routine maintenance on irrigation systems and farm equipment
- Use hand tools for various tasks such as pruning, planting, and repairs
- Conduct heavy lifting of supplies, plants, or harvested produce as needed
- Support general farm maintenance including cleaning, repairs, and equipment checks
- Follow safety protocols during all activities to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist with soil preparation, fertilization, and pest control activities as directed
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of horticulture practices and farm maintenance preferred
- Experience with irrigation systems and farm machinery is a plus
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and power tools safely
- Mechanical knowledge beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Strong physical stamina capable of heavy lifting and long hours of manual work
- Basic math skills for measurements and record keeping
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively as part of a team
