We are looking for a friendly, energetic, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Eyewear Consultant / Optical Associate. In this role, you will have a direct impact on our patients’ experience, confidence, and visual outcomes every day.
About the Role
This is a patient-facing sales and service role where you will help patients look and see their best. You will guide patients through frame selection, educate them on lens options, and ensure they receive eyewear tailored to their lifestyle and visual needs.
You will often be one of the first points of contact in the clinic and will play a key role in delivering an exceptional patient experience.
Clinic Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
What You’ll Be Doing
- Welcoming patients into the clinic and creating a positive, professional first impression
- Assisting patients in selecting frames that suit their style, needs, and prescription
- Educating patients on lens options (materials, coatings, designs) to maximize visual performance
- Interpreting eyeglass prescriptions accurately
- Taking precise optical measurements
- Adjusting, fitting, and troubleshooting eyewear
- Assisting with contact lens fittings and ordering
- Processing and billing insurance claims and third-party providers
- Handling payments and checkout processes
- Communicating with patients in person, by phone, and by email
- Supporting overall clinic flow and contributing to a team-focused environment
What We’re Looking For
- Warm, friendly, and personable – someone who genuinely enjoys working with people
- Sales or customer service experience (retail or optical preferred)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and guide patients clearly
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using computers and clinic software
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Motivated, dependable, and eager to learn
Bonus (Not Required)
- Previous optical or healthcare experience
- Experience with insurance billing
- Experience in a clinic or fast-paced retail environment
