Experienced Body Shop Technician
We are looking for an experienced Body Shop Technician who can work independently and wants the opportunity to grow with a new body shop operation.
This role is best suited for someone who already has solid hands-on body shop experience and does not require constant supervision. We are not looking for an entry-level helper, nor are we looking for someone who expects to manage solely from an office. This is a hands-on position.
The right candidate will help perform quality body repairs, organize the shop as we grow, and eventually assist with training and developing additional team members.
Responsibilities
- Perform body repair work on vehicles
- Handle panel repair, panel replacement, sanding, prep work, fitting, minor structural repairs, and related body shop tasks
- Inspect vehicles and help determine the proper repair approach
- Work independently and keep jobs moving efficiently
- Help maintain a clean and organized body shop area
- Communicate parts, materials, and vendor needs clearly
- Help train helpers or junior technicians as the shop grows
- Assist with improving workflow, tools, supplies, and repair processes
- Help build and maintain vendor relationships for parts, materials, paint, and supplies when needed
- Take pride in quality workmanship and reduce comebacks
What We Are Looking For
- Experience with aluminum body repair is a must
- At least 3–5 years of body shop or collision repair experience
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with body repair, panel work, sanding, prep work, and replacement parts
- Welding, frame repair, paint, or estimating experience is a plus
- Vendor knowledge or existing vendor relationships are preferred
- Must be reliable, organized, and professional
- Must be comfortable helping train others as the shop grows
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must care about quality and doing the job right

Compensation
- $25–$32 per hour, based on experience
We are willing to pay more for someone who is self-sufficient, reliable, highly skilled, and capable of helping the shop grow. Future growth opportunities will be available as the department expands.
