Excavator Operator – Infrastructure (Water & Sewer)

Thompson Construction Group has immediate openings for Water and Sewer Excavator Operators supporting our Infrastructure division’s land development and subdivision projects in the Calgary area.

Responsibilities:

• Excavate and safely slope (1:1 or engineered alternative) ditches to grade for general water and sewer installation
• Comfortable excavating near existing utilities
• Work with Pipe Layer to expose existing utilities for tie-ins and for utility crossings
• Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
• Report all incidents, near misses, and equipment damage to site supervision
• Maintain effective communication with supervisors and crew members
• Work collaboratively as part of a construction crew to meet project timelines

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Reliable transportation to and from site
• Ability to work extended hours, including up to 12 hours per day, Monday to Saturday
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is considered an asset
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor construction environment
