American Rooter is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator / Service Plumber to join our growing Central Pennsylvania team based in Lemoyne, PA.
This unique position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their work. Some days will be spent operating excavation equipment and performing underground utility repairs, while other days will involve running residential service calls including plumbing repairs, drain cleaning, sewer cleaning, sewer camera inspections, locating underground utilities, and hydro-jetting services.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, providing excellent customer service, and adapting to different types of work based on business needs.
ResponsibilitiesHeavy Equipment Operation & Underground Utility Work
- Operate mini excavators and excavators safely and efficiently
- Perform excavation for water service and sewer service repairs and replacements
- Expose underground utilities safely
- Assist with water service repairs and replacements
- Assist with sewer service repairs and replacements
- Perform site restoration and cleanup
- Conduct equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Follow all excavation safety requirements and company procedures
Service Plumbing & Drain Services
- Diagnose residential plumbing issues
- Perform plumbing repairs and replacements
- Perform drain cleaning and sewer cleaning services
- Operate hydro-jetting equipment
- Perform sewer camera inspections
- Locate underground sewer and water lines
- Prepare estimates and explain repair options to homeowners
- Complete required paperwork, photos, and documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service during all service calls
General Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude
- Follow OSHA and company safety requirements
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Work independently while communicating effectively with management and dispatch
- Participate in emergency and after-hours service when required
QualificationsRequired
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Experience operating excavators
- Experience in residential plumbing service
- Experience diagnosing plumbing and drain issues
- Ability to work independently
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
