Position Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified, passionate, and dynamic English Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the BC Curriculum and AP English standards. You will be responsible for guiding students from elementary to secondary levels, focusing on elevating their reading comprehension, critical writing, and vocabulary mastery.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Excellence: Deliver engaging lessons tailored to K-12 students, focusing on literacy, analytical writing, and advanced vocabulary.
- AP Coaching: Prepare secondary students for AP English Language and Composition or AP English Literature with proven strategies.
- Student Mentorship: Act as a facilitator of learning, using inquiry-based methods to inspire students’ curiosity and critical thinking.
- Curriculum Integration: Effectively utilize and adapt teaching materials to meet individual student needs and learning goals.
- Progress Tracking: Provide detailed feedback to students and regular updates to parents regarding academic milestones.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certification (Mandatory):
- Master’s Degree or higher in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Valid Teaching Certificate (BC Teaching Certificate or equivalent is highly preferred).
Experience:
- Proven experience teaching K-12 students within the BC school system or equivalent Canadian curriculum.
- Strong track record in teaching AP English and helping students achieve high scores.
Skills:
- Exceptional Communication: Strong expressive and interpersonal skills.
- Expert Facilitator: Highly skilled at "guiding" rather than just "lecturing," with the ability to stimulate student engagement.
- Content Mastery: Deep expertise in teaching structured writing, sophisticated reading analysis, and vocabulary development.

Pay: $30.00-$60.00 per hour
