JOB SUMMARY

As part of the Strategic Energy Management (SEM) team at EPS, your role will be to support the delivery of SEM programs to multiple large industrial clients. The focus of this role will be to serve as an Energy Analyst to drive the delivery of a series of activities with the clients while focusing on generating energy savings within the industrial plants.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analysis of energy performance within industrial facilities to develop key insights (production intensity, downtime energy, etc.).
  • Providing support (technical and project management) to clients in finding, validating, developing, and implementing energy savings opportunities in industrial systems (compressors, boilers, chillers, HVAC, major process equipment, etc.).
  • Interaction with the clients mainly via teleconferencing and occasionally in person and on-site.
  • Operational project management for a multitude of projects: budgets, deliverables, resources, timelines, KPIs, etc.
  • Coaching plant personnel in energy management practices (technical, procedural, etc.).
  • Facilitating on-site events such as energy savings opportunities brainstorming.
  • Leading the preparation of Annual Energy Planning (in accordance with ISO 50001).
  • Deliver quantifiable energy savings.

REQUIRED SKILLS

We are looking for a team player who has excellent analytical skills as well as strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate would have 4-7 years of engineering working experience. Work experience in energy management is an asset.

  • Strong technical knowledge allowing an in-depth understanding of various industrial processes and systems.
  • Ability to break down complicated problems and communicate them effectively.
  • Data analysis skills (preparing data for analysis, summary statistics, visual analysis, extracting actionable opportunities and relevant questions, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel).
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to effectively facilitate group conversations.
  • Ability to run an effective meeting with a diversity of stakeholders.
  • Autonomous and results-oriented with a developed attention to detail.
  • Developed ability to understand new concepts and learn autonomously.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently (French is an asset).
  • Experience in an industrial environment (asset).
  • Project management experience/certification (asset).
  • Electrical concepts and practical knowledge (asset).
