About The PositionThis is a regular part-time support staff Bargaining Unit position reporting to the Manager, Employment Services working 24 hours per week at an hourly rate of $34.82. This position will be based at 1416 Dufferin Ave in Wallaceburg, working 9am – 4pm Monday through Thursday.

Under the direction of the Program Manager, in compliance with the funded program guidelines and College policies, and guided by performance targets, the incumbent assists job seekers who are multi- barriered, unemployed and underemployed to explore, access and retain employment and where determined necessary, initiates, develops, and secures direct employment opportunities, meaningful work experience & training placements for unemployed clients. Together with the client, the incumbent develops an individualized Employment Action Plan (EAP); provides ongoing monitoring, coaching and adjustments to the EAP to guide the individual through the interventions to ensure preparation for entry and retention in the labour force.

The incumbent will assist employers with their recruitment needs by marketing a full range of program capabilities with a particular emphasis on Employment Ontario offerings. Liaison functions are normally of a proactive nature.

The incumbent is responsible for conducting labour market research and identifying target markets through which to promote client capabilities that effectively attract new employers to provide meaningful work experiences for clients.

Specific Accountabilities

Using a client centered and collaborative approach, the incumbent develops a tailored Employment Action Plan which is monitored, and outcomes managed.

Interviews, assesses, and guides the client to explore their career, employment and training goals. Works with the client to identify activities, incentives and supports that are most suited to the individual in achieving their desired outcomes.

Maintain up-to-date client records and files in accordance with funded program Guidelines and departmental procedures.

Advocates on client’s behalf to gain access to relevant community resources and ensures continued support for access to services.
