Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-Basic) – Contingent / Per Diem
LA Medical Transportation – Wayne County, MI
LA Medical Transportation is a newly launching BLS ambulance service serving Wayne County, Michigan, and we’re building our team from the ground up. We’re looking for motivated EMT-Basics who want to be part of a growing operation from day one.
This is a contingent/per diem position, giving you the flexibility to pick up shifts based on your availability — no mandatory minimums and no rigid scheduling. Whether you’re balancing school, another job, or personal commitments, this position offers flexible opportunities to work when it fits your schedule.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and professional BLS patient care and transportation
- Perform interfacility transports (hospital discharges, SNF transfers, scheduled transports, etc.)
- Respond to occasional emergency/911 calls when needed
- Complete accurate and timely patient care reports (PCRs)
- Conduct daily ambulance and equipment inspections
- Work effectively as part of a two-person BLS crew
- Maintain professionalism and strong patient interaction at all times
Qualifications
- Active Michigan EMT-Basic license (or higher) in good standing
- Current CPR/BLS certification (AHA or equivalent)
- Valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts (days and/or nights)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable, professional, and patient-focused
