Job Description
We are seeking an Electrical Designer to join our team. This role involves developing electrical concepts, schematics, and layouts, primarily using Solid Works Electrical and AutoCAD Electrical. The successful candidate will produce accurate design layouts and manufacturing documentation in compliance with approved standards, ensuring technical quality and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Develop electrical concepts, schematics, and layouts using Solid Works Electrical and AutoCAD Electrical.
Produce accurate design layouts and manufacturing documentation in compliance with approved standards.
Ensure technical quality, accuracy, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Coordinate with engineering, purchasing, production, and cross-functional teams to meet design requirements.
Evaluate designs and processes, recommending improvements where appropriate.
Support prototyping and assembly activities and resolve design issues.
Essential Skills
Electrical Technologist Diploma (3 years) with 3+ years of relevant experience.
3+ years of experience with Solid Works Electrical (schematic and 3D).
3+ years of experience with AutoCAD Electrical (2D).
Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems.
Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
Additional Assets:
Knowledge of SQL, Autodesk Vault PDM, and configuration management.
Familiarity with UL, CSA, ANSI, and IEC standards.
Experience with electrical design, wiring harnesses, schematics diagrams, and panel layout design.
Experience in producing electrical drawings from schematics, cabling, wiring, and single-line drawings.
Experience in industrial settings, particularly with schematics for factories, industrial motors, and conveyor systems.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Kanata, ON.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 – $45.00/hr.
