Responsibilities
Formulate formal maintenance strategies, organize work schedules, and procure replacement parts using the CMMS (Maximo) system;
Ensure that planned tasks adhere to relevant provincial/federal regulations, company policies, and standards;
Diagnose electrical and instrumentation issues;
Support the engineering department in integrating electrical and instrumentation components into new equipment designs;
Participate in recruiting, training, and evaluating departmental trades staff;
Oversee the scheduling, delegation, and supervision of electrical shop employees’ tasks;
Contribute to the preparation and oversight of the electrical/instrumentation maintenance budget;
Classify and prioritize work orders within the CMMS;
Create and manage work schedules, equipment usage plans, electrical expenditure priorities, and equipment maintenance procedures;
Collaborate closely with the company’s Site Safety Coordinator to ensure compliance with OH&S policies and promote safe work practices.
Qualifications
Hold a degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Technology or possess a Red Seal in Electrical/Instrumentation Trade with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
Have 5-7 years of experience in the industrial/manufacturing sector.
Demonstrate 3-5 years of supervisory experience, with prior exposure to unionized environments considered advantageous.
Possess knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials commonly used in the electrical/instrumentation trade.
Familiarity with relevant electrical/instrumentation codes, standards, and regulations.
Understanding of supervisory principles, practices, and techniques.
Ability to estimate time and material requirements for assigned work projects.
