EIC ENGINEER (INTERMEDIATE)

We are seeking 3 Intermediate EIC Engineers to join the team of one of North America’s premier Automation and Control Systems  this role, you will focus on designing and programming EIC systems to meet clients’ evolving needs and technologies. This position offers a

Work will be carried out either in-office or in the field at the client’s location, as needed.

RRSPYOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

Providing EIC engineering and design for greenfield and existing industrial applications.

Validating electrical systems using standard engineering tools and software.

Producing and modifying design drawings using EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical.

Developing electrical schematics per UL508A and CEC standards, panel layouts, and BOMs for custom control panels, creating drawing sets from scratch using existing company templates.

Developing equipment & instrument list, selecting appropriate type per customer requirements, company standards, and equipment specifications. Generating PLC IO list and PLC rack layouts.

Developing network topology drawings and designing network panels.

Designing safety systems and producing safety architecture drawings and wiring diagrams.

Developing single line diagrams, sizing circuit breakers, cables and VFDs, and load demand calculations.

Providing lighting and emergency lighting design, performing simulations, and developing drawings.

Drafting technical documentation to support design activities and document work plans and performance.

Interpreting specifications, ensuring compliance to company standards and client requirements, and providing feedback regarding necessary procedure changes.

Collaborating with electrical fabrication shops and electrical contractors.

Inspecting electrical components during and after installation, performing FAT testing in-house and occasionally onsite at remote locations. Performing supervision and commissioning services onsite as needed per the commissioning schedule which will require work to be completed after hours, on weekends, and on statutory holidays from time to time.

Effectively communicating with clients regarding project progress.

Providing time estimates to management for work that will be performed, allocating time for tasks efficiently, and ensuring tasks are prioritized and completed according to schedule.

Entering work hours and comments into the timesheet program each week per management deadlines.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
