Education Assistant – Early Childhood Services Jobs in Calgary at Learning Potential Foundation
Learning Potential Foundation is looking for Education Assistants to join our team for the upcoming school year (training at the end of Aug and with children from Sept-June). We partner with preschools and daycares in Airdrie & Calgary and work with children aged 2-5 years with varying levels of delays/needs.
Position opportunities:
1) FT EA position in Airdrie: this position is with high needs preschoolers and we need someone with great stamina and durability (would appreciate a male to take this position as all of these children are boys who could benefit from a male role model) M-F approx 8:15-4:15 w a 30 min unpaid lunch break.
2) 2 FT EA positions in a Christian Daycare in Airdrie: this position is with high needs preschoolers and we need someone with great stamina and durability (preferably a Christian would be placed in this Christian center). Mon-Fri: One position from 9-6 & another from 7:30-4:30 w one hour unpaid break.
3) FT EA position at 10 Ave SW, Calgary: this position includes a child with potential extreme behaviours (would benefit if you have a quick eye and ninja skills), M-F approx 8:30-4:30 w a 30 min unpaid break
4) Apply for various EA positions within Airdrie & Calgary (part time to full time)
Qualifications include:
-Experience with children with delays and/or special needs an asset
-Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search (dated within the last 6 months)
– Education Assistant certification an asset
Abilities Required include:
-Proficiency in English (written and oral)
-Ability to work as a team and independently
-Good organizational skills, time management skills, and pacing skills
-Flexibility within a group setting of students with various needs
-Ability to respond appropriately to challenging behaviours of students
-Reliable & Dependable (including consistent attendance)
-Success in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
-Enthusiasm, commitment, willingness to learn, and desire to make a difference
-Ability to maintain confidentiality and represent our ECS in a professional manner
Compensation/Position includes:
-$21/hr
-Benefits after 3 months if employed for 18+ hrs per week
-Contract runs from end Sept 1 – June 21/24 with training at the end of Aug (with option to renew based on performance and agreement by both parties; towards the following school year) &/or new positions for the upcoming school year.
**Please note that this is a position in Education and NOT Childcare. The posted pay is the hourly rate and there is no additional childcare sector wage top-up. Thank you
