The Education Assistant role involves providing tailored support to students identified as at risk or facing complex social/emotional challenges. Working 28 hours a week, you’ll collaborate closely with the Inclusive Education Lead and classroom teacher to engage students effectively. Ideal candidates are passionate about education and can meet the physical demands of the role while ensuring confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with diverse learning needs in a structured environment
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and program supervisors
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Actively engage students in their educational programs
• Complete assigned tasks with a focus on individual needs
Requirements:
• Education Assistant Certificate or equivalent
• One year of experience with special programming needs
• First Aid training certification
• Knowledge of ASL is an asset
• Strong communication and collaborative skills
