Overview
E-commerce AI associate Jobs in Montréal at Yaralas corp
THE ROLE
We’re looking for someone who’s genuinely good with AI tools and can take a task — "draft 50 product descriptions," "clean up this product feed," "write a script that pulls X from Y," "set up a Claude workflow that does Z" — and just get it done.
This is not an engineering role. You don’t need a CS degree. You don’t need to architect systems. What you do need: real, hands-on fluency with AI tools, comfort reading and modifying code (Python, JavaScript, Apps Script), and the ability to take direction and ship completed work without constant supervision.
Think of it as a high-leverage operations role. The owner has a long backlog of "this could be automated" and "this could be done with AI" tasks across the company. Your job is to plow through that backlog.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Use Claude, ChatGPT, and Claude Code to draft, generate, clean, or transform large volumes of content and data — product listings, descriptions, SEO copy, vendor emails, internal docs.
- Run and maintain existing automations and scripts the owner has already built (Apps Script dashboards, Telegram bots, Node.js services, customer service agents).
- Make small to medium edits to existing code — fix bugs, add fields, tweak prompts, adjust workflows. You don’t need to write apps from scratch, but you should be able to read code and confidently modify it.
- Build and refine prompts: take a vague request and turn it into a working prompt or workflow that produces the right output consistently.
- Handle data cleanup tasks with AI assist: dedupe, reformat, enrich, and validate spreadsheets and product catalogs across thousands of SKUs.
- Set up and run AI workflows for marketplace operations: listing optimization, content generation, customer service drafts, vendor communications.
- Document what you build so it can be re-used. Maintain a library of prompts, scripts, and SOPs.
- Triage incoming tasks: figure out which can be done with AI, which need a script, and which are faster done by hand.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Real, daily experience using Claude, ChatGPT, or similar LLMs — not just "I’ve used it once or twice." You should have prompts and projects you can actually point to.
- Comfort reading and modifying code in at least one of: Python, JavaScript, or Google Apps Script. You don’t need to be a developer; you do need to be able to open a file, understand what it does, and change it without breaking it.
- Spreadsheet fluency: Excel and Google Sheets, including formulas, pivot tables, and data cleanup at scale.
- Self-direction. Tasks come in as short instructions. You ask the right clarifying questions, then go execute. You don’t need someone watching over your shoulder.
- Strong written English. Bilingual EN/FR is a plus but not required.
- Resourcefulness — when you don’t know how to do something, you figure it out. Reading docs, searching, asking AI for help, trial and error.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with Claude API, OpenAI API, or building agent workflows.
- Familiarity with Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI-assisted coding tools.
- Background in e-commerce, product data, or marketplace operations (Amazon, Shopify, Wayfair, Walmart).
- Experience with Google Apps Script, Node.js, or basic backend scripting.
- Comfort with command line, Git, and basic system administration.
- Background in marketing, copywriting, or content production.
HOW THIS WORKS
- Hourly compensation in the $20–$50 range, based on experience and what you can demonstrably do.
- Flexible structure: open to part-time, full-time, or contract. Tell us what works for you.
- Hybrid arrangement — some in-office time in Montreal, remote work otherwise. Fully remote considered for the right candidate.
- You’ll work directly with the owner. Direction is clear, feedback is fast, and you get to see your work used immediately.
- Real growth path: as you prove yourself, scope and rate grow with you.
- Clear, concise written communication — you can email a vendor, a buyer, or a marketplace support rep and sound professional.
NICE TO HAVE
- Prior hands-on experience with Amazon Seller Central, Shopify, Wayfair, or Walmart Marketplace.
- Familiarity with product catalog management, flat files, or feed/listing tools.
- Basic understanding of e-commerce KPIs (conversion rate, sell-through, returns, lead time).
- Experience with QuickBooks, accounting workflows, or invoice tracking.
- Photography, image editing (Photoshop / Canva), or basic copywriting skills.
