Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, and other bulk loads to various job sites. Your expertise in truck driving, route navigation, and load management will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction and industrial projects with a focus on efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles such as roll-off trucks and flatbeds to transport materials across designated routes.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and fluid levels.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during route driving and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any vehicle issues.
- Assist with loading materials onto trucks or unloading at job sites as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a truck driver specializing in commercial driving of dump trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Experience with freight handling, load & unload procedures, and route driving in various environments.
- Familiarity with different trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks is a plus.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with necessary endorsements for dump trucks; experience with tractor-trailers preferred.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to freight transportation and vehicle maintenance.
