Drywall Finisher Jobs in Okemos, MI at Tru Solutions Commercial Painting
Core Responsibilities
- Apply joint compound (“mud”) to seams between drywall panels
- Tape over joints using paper or mesh tape
- Smooth and feather compound to create an even surface
- Sand dried compound to remove ridges or imperfections
- Fill holes, cracks, dents, and screw/nail indentations
- Apply multiple coats of compound as needed for a seamless finish being able to utilize 5 and 20 minute mud
- Match textures (e.g., orange peel, knockdown) to existing walls or ceilings
- Inspect finished surfaces to ensure quality standards
- Be able to complete reasonable finish in shorter than ideal timeframes

- Taping knives, trowels, and mud pans
- Sanding blocks, pole sanders, or power sanders
- Joint compound, drywall tape

- Basic math skills for measuring and estimating materials
- Time management and ability to meet project deadlines
Work Environment
- Commercial construction sites
