A Day in the Life
Develop detailed design drawings and specifications using AutoCAD or Inventor
Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems
Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
Position instructions and comments onto drawings
Modify and revise designs to correct deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
Layout and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components and assemblies.
Maintain organization within the existing drawing database
Material quantifying as required for purchasing of said materials
Develop fabrication drawings for the purpose of assisting shop employees to fabricate the parts for the project
Other duties as required
What We Are Seeking
3-5 years drafting work experience in a similar industry or graduate of an architectural technology college program
Shop Fabrication experience an asset
ICI District with generic metal siding, metal roofing, and architectural wall panel experience
Experience in AP an asset
Strong PC skills in AutoCAD and MS Office
Strong mathematical skills an asset
Strong time management skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Must be organized and self-motivated
Strong verbal and written communication skills
An eagerness to learn and overcome challenges
