Responsibilities
- Perform Mobile grooming services, including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping, to meet each pet’s specific needs and breed standards
- Handle dogs safely and confidently, utilizing proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and safety during grooming procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming van, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use
- Assess each dog’s coat condition and skin health, providing recommendations for ongoing care or veterinary referral if necessary
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide advice on pet care and maintenance
Skills
- Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of different coat types and grooming techniques
- Knowledge of dog training principles to manage various temperaments during grooming sessions
- Skilled in animal handling, restraint, and pet care to ensure safety and comfort for all animals involved
- Ability to lift heavy objects (heavy lifting), such as large dogs or equipment, safely and efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate clearly with pet owners and address their concerns professionally
- Experience with animal care in settings like kennels or pet sitting environments adds valuable insight
