Position: District ELL Teacher Needed Now
Join School District No. 60 as a District ELL Support Teacher. This temporary full-time position from September 8 to October 2 focuses on assisting ELL students in various schools, emphasizing effective language learning strategies.
As an ELL Specialist Support Teacher, your role will include providing direct instruction, language assessments, and supporting classroom teachers in executing language acquisition plans. This position requires a valid BC Teaching Certificate, a passion for working with diverse learners, and adaptability to travel to rural areas as required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct language assessments for ELL students
• Collaborate with teachers on language programs
• Deliver workshops and in-service training
• Teach directly and co-teach with classroom educators
• Travel to various rural and town schools
Requirements:
• Must hold or be eligible for BC Teaching Certificate
• Experience with complex needs students is necessary
• Strong communication and instructional technology skills
• Leadership experience and ELL methodology training preferred
• Flexibility for travel and training outside regular hours
