Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools efficiently and safely.
- Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks when needed, including organizing supplies and handling ingredients with proper food handling techniques.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas.
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, and boxes while adhering to proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, floors, and storage spaces, following sanitation standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, or other small appliances under supervision when required.
- Support the team during catering or banquet events by assisting with setup and cleanup tasks.
- Adhere to all kitchen health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for everyone.
- Contribute positively to team efforts by demonstrating excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is valued.
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitation procedures is advantageous.
- Experience with dishwashing or kitchen cleaning roles demonstrates reliability in maintaining hygiene standards.
- Basic knowledge of operating kitchen equipment or culinary tools is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Prior banquet, catering, or hotel experience can be beneficial but is not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Strong understanding of hospitality principles and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
