This is a hybrid role.

You will

work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month.

You are

welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

The Opportunity:

The Director, Savings and Retirement (S&R) Pricing is an Actuary responsible for the refinement of IFRS 9 &17 into Savings and Retirement Actuarial pricing models. They are part of a team responsible for the current portfolio pricing of Guaranteed Deposit Accounts, Payout Annuities, Segregated Funds, and a Pre-Need Funeral product as well as future product initiatives. What you will be doing:

Routine and ad-hoc pricing of S&R products Oversee the preparation of special quotes Frequent interactions with Sales and Distribution regarding new product pricing. Directly manage up to three actuarial staff Participation when necessary in relevant industry committees and working groups Participate in cross-functional working groups to consider implications of the new standards and develop key recommendations on key policy decisions from an S&R perspective Play a

leadership

role in the development of quarterly reporting requirements and ensure alignment with S&R Finance, Corporate Finance, and the Investment Division Provide technical support in ensuring alignment of requirements spanning cross functional requirements including capital management, risk management, taxation, stochastic scenario development, asset pricing, and investment strategies transition as they relate to pricing Lead development of S&R financial projection methodologies for business plan Become a Subject Matter Expert on Equitable’s Economic Scenario Generator What you will bring:

University degree in mathematics or actuarial science and an FSA/FCIA designation Minimum 5 years of experience in the financial services industry, including financial reporting IFRS 9/17 and LICAT background in life or savings products. Familiarity with Segregated Fund and Payout annuity products Excellent analytical,

problem solving

and organizational skills Thorough knowledge of Moody’s Axis, Excel, & Access Familiarity with ESG’s and scenario development Familiarity with market consistent valuation approaches

Proven track record

of working on multi-disciplinary teams Excellent

communication

and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas to various audiences

Ability to

deliver project results on time with a high degree of quality Strong people management skills …
