We have an
exciting
opportunity for a Director of Technology based in our Richmond, BC office.
Reporting to the Head of Technology, the successful candidate will be highly skilled and experienced in overseeing the development, implementation, maintenance, and support of technology within our organization. The ideal candidate will have strong
leadership
and
communication skills
with a minimum of 5 years of experience in leading technology teams. The Director of Technology will also work closely with other Directors and franchisees to ensure our technology is effective in meeting the demands of our business and customers.
Proven ability to effectively manage 3rd party technology service providers and vendors is also required.
Key responsibilities include: closely with the Head of Technology, technology team, and business leaders to develop effective technology strategies in alignment with business franchisee advisory committee meetings and help direct store technology standards as required.

Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS infrastructure is effectively deployed and managed.cloud
optimization
and Fin Ops practice.policies and procedures for the use of technology within the organization.other duties as assigned by the Head of Technology
Skills:
Strategic planning
and establishing governance, preferably in a franchised business.
Ability to
manage large scale programs and projects.
Leading technology teams and partners.
Organizational
change management
.
Capturing business requirements using a proven process modelling methodology.
Experience building and leading mobile and web custom application developments.
Experience selecting, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
Experience developing and supporting Microsoft Power BI.
Ability to
identify and mitigate risks that impact project success.
Experience in technology project estimating and ensure resources are allocated effectively.
Proven
effective communication
to convey messages to technology partners, franchisees, and team members.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years previous IT
leadership
experience in a quick paced retail organization.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering (or equivalent experience).Proven experience in a similar role with a track record of successful technology implementations.
Strong
leadership
skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical employees.
Ability to
work and travel throughout North America.
Automotive industry experience is an asset.
The successful candidate is a natural leader who is comfortable acting as a business partner with franchisees, and internal departments.
