Title: Director of Operations – pediatric clinic

Location: Greater Toronto Area

Schedule: M-F, with some evening and weekend availability as needed

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Operations works in partnership with the leadership team to drive operational performance and execution while building and leading a talent rich team. This role optimizes systems and structures that effectively reduce clinic variability, ensures high quality services and allows operations to scale and grow within the region.

Engaged and High Performing Team

Ensure the right people are in the right roles across the region

Lead by example to coach, mentor and support the growth and development of staff

Ensure onboarding is a priority and implemented consistently to set new team members up for success

Create an environment that ensures a high performing and engaged workforce

Foster a culture of psychological safety, where team members feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, ideas, and concerns without fear of retribution

Encourage open and honest communication, actively listen to team members’ feedback, and address any concerns in a timely and respectful manner

Provide resources and support for team members’ mental health and wellbeing, including access to counseling services, mental health days, and stress management training

Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and ensure that all team members feel valued, respected, and supported

Provide training and development opportunities for leaders to enhance their skills creating and maintaining a psychologically safe workplace

Operational Performance

Responsible for overall business performance of the assigned region meeting business objectives and key performance indicators

Develop systems and structures that are strategic, compliant with relevant legislation, requirements of regulatory bodies, stakeholder agreements, and service delivery models

Works with the leadership team to develop and action on scalable, innovative ideas to streamline systems

Accountable for key performance metrics to ensure consistent application across all business segments and facilities

Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, consolidating data and comparing operational performance to budget targets and ensures plans to address variances are in place

Analyze trends for consistency, opportunities for improvement and alignment to business objectives

Lead Projects, Key Initiatives and Change Management within the Region

Lead the operational integration of new locations/contracts/acquisitions/services

Develop and execute on project plans and change management plans that outline goals, timelines, and deliverables

Engage subject matter experts as required to ensure goals, projects and objectives are met

Ensure effective communication between all stakeholders (internal and external as required)

Facilities Management

Maintain Stakeholder Relations

Develop and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including local businesses, government agencies, and non-profit organizations, to promote business development and thought leadership

Identify and pursue strategic partnerships with community organizations to drive business growth and increase visibility in the community

Represent the company at community events and engage with local media to promote the company’s brand and thought leadership in the community
