Overview

Director of Marketing Jobs in Paradise, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada at Paint Shop

Title: Director of Marketing

Company: Paint Shop

Location: Paradise, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

The Paint Shop is looking for a strategic, results-oriented Director of Marketing to lead our marketing function and architect the next phase of the brand’s growth. This is a pivotal leadership role at an inflection point for the brand.

We’ve built a strong, 50-year-old business with over 30 locations across Atlantic Canada, a loyal customer base, and a reputation for knowledgeable teams and standout in-store experience. Now, we’re focused on unlocking the brand’s full potential and strengthening how we show up across every touchpoint.

As Director of Marketing, you’ll operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, overseeing how the brand comes to life across stores, digital platforms, and customer touchpoints.

This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role. You’ll define how marketing operates, set the standard for how the brand shows up, and directly influence business performance.

If you’re a high-performing, seasoned marketer who thrives on ownership and wants to build and scale a function as the business grows, this is a rare opportunity to do exactly that.

What You’ll Do

Lead Marketing Operations

  • Execute on our marketing plan, and bring our brand strategy to life.
  • Manage budget planning and allocation to maximize impact and ROI.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and an internal marketing team as the business scales.
  • Act as the internal point of contact for external partners, and our marketing agency, ensuring their strategic output translates into actionable results.
  • Modernize marketing operations by implementing structures, workflows, and tools that drive efficiency and clarity.

Brand Management & Omni-Channel Campaign Execution

  • Lead the planning and execution of all marketing campaigns across digital, social, in-store, and traditional channels.
  • Drive ongoing improvements to the website and digital experience.
  • Build strong relationships and partner with franchise and corporate store teams to develop marketing initiatives that drive foot traffic and engagement, including tailoring campaigns by region or local performance.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all channels and consumer touchpoints.

Performance & Insights

  • Measure campaign performance against business goals, with a focus on ROI and key drivers.
  • Build feedback loops with stores, customers, and partners to capture insights.
  • Use data and results to refine tactics and improve campaigns.
  • Regularly present performance and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, brand strategy, or brand management, ideally in retail or franchise environments.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills – you can keep multiple workstreams moving without losing momentum.
  • High attention to detail – you notice what others miss and care about getting things right.
  • Proven ability to execute – you’re comfortable taking ownership and driving work through to completion, not just supporting it.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with stores, leadership and external partners, and aligning diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to follow up, push work forward, and hold people accountable when needed.
  • Data-driven – you use performance insights and results to inform decisions and drive measurable outcomes.

Why Join The Paint Shop?

The Paint Shop offers the best of both worlds: the strength and credibility of an established brand, and the opportunity and energy of a business ready for its next chapter.

We’ve built a trusted business with real scale, momentum, and a loyal customer base. What makes this opportunity compelling is the chance to build on that foundation and unlock the brand’s full potential.

That opportunity is shaped by how we operate. We’ve kept the feel of a local company - fewer layers, more autonomy, and the ability to make meaningful change in your role. You’re not one small piece of a large machine; you’ll have real ownership and the ability to move things forward, while still getting exposure to a complex, multi-location business across franchise and corporate stores, multiple markets, and a diverse customer base. Best of both worlds - we did say that upfront.

We’ve saved one of the best parts for last: our culture. Our people are what make this place special (we might be biased). It’s a team that cares deeply about doing great work, holds a high bar, and genuinely enjoys working together - celebrating wins, pushing each other to be better, and having a lot of fun along the way. Whether it’s a casual Thirsty Thursday or a Christmas tradition that involves cutting down a real tree and sitting down for a full turkey dinner (consider this “other duties as required”), it’s a group you’ll want to be part of.
