Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs focused on turf health, landscaping, irrigation, tree care, and overall course aesthetics.
- Supervise and lead a team of groundskeepers, horticulturists, and maintenance staff to ensure high standards of lawn care, gardening, and landscape management.
- Oversee construction projects related to course improvements or renovations, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion.
- Manage irrigation systems to optimize water use efficiency while maintaining lush playing surfaces.
- Conduct regular inspections of the course to identify areas needing repair or enhancement; coordinate with contractors for specialized landscaping or construction work.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment servicing, and environmental compliance.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines for fertilizer, chemical use, and pest control.
- Recruit, train, manage, and develop staff while fostering a safe, positive, and high-performance work environment.
Experience
- · Experience managing a golf course required.
- · College or university program certificate or degree preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of turf management, lawn care techniques, horticulture practices, and tree care.
- Hands-on experience with irrigation systems, gardening techniques, and landscaping design.
- Strong background in construction projects related to outdoor environments or sports facilities.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Familiarity with maintenance equipment, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
