Make an impact with our Quality, Ethics team as a Director. This diverse team provides best-in-class ethics management expertise to internally drive the success of the Firm. As a trusted advisor, you’ll play an integral role in driving quality initiatives and promoting the importance of ethics throughout the Firm, ensuring that ethical standards are upheld and that risks related to quality and compliance are identified, assessed, and managed effectively.

Responsibilities
Interpret and apply the rules of professional conduct and ethics standards for professional accountants, including independence and conflicts of interest requirements
Deliver expertise in:
The Canadian CPA Rules of Professional Conduct, Codes of Professional Conduct and Code of Ethics The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board’s (PCAOB) Ethics & Independence Rules The Securities Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Auditor Independence Rules
Provide advice on, and support team members with, the adoption and implementation of practical solutions to ethical and professional conduct matters
Promote the importance of ethics to partners and other MNP team members across the Firm
Play an integral role in driving Firm quality initiatives
Oversee the creation of high-quality and timely professional conduct and ethics-related thought leadership
Participate in the development of, and occasionally facilitate, professional conduct and ethics-related training in MNP’s in-house education programs
Support the development and maintenance of the Firm’s policies, guidelines, and compliance protocols
Contribute to the development of new ideas, education, and approaches to improve work processes, including assisting in the identification, development and implementation of technology solutions
Liaise and correspond professionally with team members, the Firm’s leadership team, ethics and independence standard-setters, and CPA member bodies and regulators
Contribute to strategic and operational planning for the Ethics team
Leverage team members to ensure delivery of resources that are complete, accurate and timely
Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and conducting performance reviews
Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
Skills and Experience
Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
10+ years of relevant work experience, post CPA designation
Extensive knowledge and experience in the interpretation and application of the various Canadian provincial/territorial CPA rules of professional conduct
Expert-level knowledge in the independence and conflicts of interest rules
Pragmatic approach to problem-solving, with a reputation for high quality standards
Ability to maintain discretion in recognizing, protecting, and adhering to absolute confidentiality of highly sensitive information
Collaborative and proactive
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills
Knowledge and experience with any of the following are considered an asset:
The International Ethics Standards Board’s (IESBA) International Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants The American Institute of CPAs’ (AICPA) Code of Professional Conduct Written and verbal French language skills
