SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), the Director, Communications and Digital will provide strategic leadership during a pivotal period of international market engagement. In this highly visible role, the Director will oversee the development and execution of proactive communication strategies, public affairs initiatives, and the organization’s overarching digital roadmap, including corporate messaging, website content management, and global social media presence. You will oversee formal communication and speech writing for executives, ensuring that the content is compelling, memorable and increases the brand health of Canada. As a key functional leader, you will act as a trusted advisor to the CMO, and senior executive teams on reputation management, public communications, and digital positioning. You will guide an agile, action-oriented communications team, balancing long-term strategic positioning with immediate operational deliverables. Collaborating cross-functionally, you will ensure a highly unified and impactful voice that strengthens Canada's foreign direct investment brand worldwide.

IS THIS FOR YOU?

You are an accomplished communications professional with 10+ years of comprehensive experience in communications, public affairs, or digital strategy, backed by a proven track record of leading high-performing teams. You possess executive-level speechwriting experience and you can turn data and reports into compelling, memorable narratives that resonate with a diverse audience. You are an expert at navigating complex environments and possess the maturity and presence required to confidently advise senior stakeholders, corporate executives, and leadership. You bring deep technical and strategic fluency across digital communication channels, web infrastructure, and global social media networks. As a writer and editor, your communication skills are impeccable, and you maintain the rare capability to operate at an executive level while remaining willing to dive hands-on into content development and speechwriting when required. You are a strong people leader who excels in prioritization and supports project management within the team. Essential to this position, you are fully bilingual in both English and French, possess strong interpersonal relationship-building skills, and are prepared to travel as necessary to advance the organization's goals.
