Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition
- Administer medication following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client privacy
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet individual dietary needs
- Support residents during outings or community activities to promote social engagement and independence
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to safety protocols
- Document care activities accurately in client records and update care plans as needed
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s <PERSON> to safely transfer clients with mobility challenges
- Respond promptly to emergency situations by performing CPR or first aid when necessary
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and social workers to deliver comprehensive care
Requirements
- Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Strong knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks safely while maintaining client dignity and comfort
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, autism, dementia (including Alzheimer’s), or memory care needs is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and patience to support diverse populations effectively
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and adhere to safety standards at all times
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
