· Advisory Services Role Overview:
This position is to support the Montage Principal with the acquisition and financing of properties and developments of affordable housing projects. In this role, you will take responsibility for preparing grant applications, securing financing and mortgages, and coordinating due diligence and submission processes. This is a mid-level position with extensive room to grow in the organization. If you enjoy working with figures, are goal oriented and can work independently, this position will be of interest to you.
You will
be exposed to the whole life cycle of affordable housing projects, and the role offers great opportunities for extensive
learning and growth
. At least two to three years’ experience is required working in a finance-related role. Become part of a small, but mighty team who are passionate about development. This position will be based at our existing office in Mt.
Pleasant.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
· Sourcing and acquiring real estate
· Preparing grants and financing applications for existing assets / development sites
· Preparing and tracking submission checklists & coordinating application submissions
· Researching planning bylaws, policies, municipal fees, etc. for due diligence
· Drafting project due diligence reports
· Assisting with pro forma financial models
· Coordinating and reviewing Requests for Proposals for consultants/contractors
· Preparing and tracking project timelines
· Coordination with other associates, contractors, etc. as required
Qualifications and
Experience:
· Batchelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Planning, Real Estate, Urban Land Economics, Economics or Architecture. Masters degree preferred.
· At least 2-3 years’ experience in real estate development or related field in the Canadian market
· An understanding of the Municipal Planning Process
· Experience working with CMHC financing
· Valid drivers’ license with access to a reliable vehicle

· Proficiency required in Excel particularly around presenting masters in an accessible manner, and other industry related software
· Accuracy and
