Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and energetic Day Porter to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our commercial or residential facilities. This vital role ensures that our environment remains welcoming, hygienic, and well-maintained for employees, visitors, and clients alike. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, physically capable of handling various cleaning tasks, and committed to delivering exceptional custodial service throughout their shift. Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation to uphold high standards of cleanliness.
- Handle chemical agents safely for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, following all safety protocols and manufacturer instructions.
- Operate floor buffers, polishers, and other custodial equipment to maintain floors in pristine condition.
- Conduct light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, and reporting larger issues to maintenance teams.
- Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, or equipment using proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are stored securely and maintained in good working order.
- Support industrial or commercial cleaning projects as needed, including specialized floor care or deep cleaning procedures.
Skills
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with a strong understanding of cleaning techniques and safety practices.
- Ability to handle chemical agents responsibly while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Skilled in operating floor buffers, polishers, and other custodial machinery for effective floor care.
- Physically capable of heavy lifting and manual handling with safe lifting practices to prevent injury.
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning standards as well as residential painting or industrial cleaning is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness across multiple areas.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time efficiently during shifts.
