Day Camp Leader is responsible for child minding at a day camp.

This is a temporary full-time position at 40 hours per week from July 1 to August 23, 2024 (8 weeks).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Day Camp Leader is responsible for the following range of duties under the supervision of the Day Camp Program Director:

Work well with children, parents and with other counselors to plan various activities.
Assist with a range of administrative duties.
Give oversight and supervision of children.
Assist with conflict resolution.
Ensure campers learn in a safe, fun, and stimulating environment.
Assist with registration and screening of campers upon arrival.
Maintain, adhere to, and always administer camp rules/policies of the camp program.
Willingness to offer spiritual support to campers, parents, other staff members, and is passionate about sharing the Gospel with all involved in the program.
Participate and lead aspects of camp program.
Demonstrate responsible, ethical, and professional conduct.
Provide support and instruction to others.
Assist with leadership training opportunities for youth volunteers as required.

The work environment is typically at the Church and outside. Must be flexible. It will include indoor and outdoor settings according to program planning with the possibility of going off-site to local parks or playgrounds within walking distance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Enrolled in High School or High School Diploma

Special Licenses, Diplomas, Certifications or Requirements:
Valid Police Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
Certificate in First Aid/CPR or willingness to receive training.
Willing to take TSA Praesidium online training.

PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
Must be able to join children in a variety of activities and maintain a high energy level throughout the program days.
Enjoy working with Children.
Able to lead, work and organize with volunteers.
Supportive knowledge of the mission of The Salvation Army
Excellent communication, conflict, resolution, and organizational skills.
