About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist II to join our Applied Research team. This team comprises data scientists and content specialists who leverage machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI models to develop impactful solutions for our users and business operations. As a key contributor, you will design, develop, and deploy advanced AI and ML systems that enhance content enrichment, search, recommendations, translation, and more across diverse media formats. Collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Engineering teams, you will work on large-scale datasets, utilizing state-of-the-art language models and machine learning techniques to solve complex challenges. The ideal candidate is curious, collaborative, and passionate about building scalable models that deliver measurable impact, with an emphasis on simplicity, end-to-end visibility, and innovation.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in developing and deploying machine learning models at scale
  • Proficiency in Python programming
  • Hands-on experience building ML pipelines and working with distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Databricks, or similar
  • Intermediate expertise in at least three of the following areas: classification algorithms, natural language processing, search, information retrieval, named entity recognition, deep learning, generative models
  • Intermediate or advanced experience with SQL or PySpark
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related quantitative discipline
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, data processing, and model deployment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a variety of content classification use cases, utilizing traditional NLP techniques, large language models, and generative AI
  • Investigate and propose solutions for complex problems at scale, focusing on performance and accuracy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and Data Engineers to design and deploy scalable AI systems
  • Utilize a broad range of algorithms and tools, from classical models in Scikit-learn and NumPy to custom neural networks in PyTorch and third-party LLM APIs
  • Process and analyze large datasets using Python, SQL, Spark, and other data processing tools
  • Document project approaches, results, and insights clearly and concisely for stakeholders
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, applying innovative techniques to enhance product capabilities
