Data Science Developer

Location:

Remote – Anywhere in Canada Empire life is looking to hire a Data Science Developer to join our Data Science team! The Data Science Developer will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing both traditional Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI initiatives to drive business value, encompassing the entire Machine Learning Development Lifecycle. This position is critical in providing decision-makers with the ability to transform various aspects across the organization in response to evolving business needs.

The Data Science Developer will be involved in supporting the

innovation

objectives of the organization through the application of data science techniques, including but not limited to Generative AI and Retrieval Augmented Generation chatbot applications to enhance the organization’s conversational AI capabilities, and will maintain awareness of data science and engineering trends and emerging technologies.

What you’ll be working on Participate in the development and implementation of both traditional machine learning and Generative AI initiatives that drive business value, utilizing platforms such as Google Vertex AI for traditional ML, and Microsoft Azure OpenAI and Google for Generative AI.Collaborate with Business Unit stakeholders to guide their decisions using data, with a specific emphasis on Generative AI applications.

Contribute to the analysis of the financial and actuarial impact of both traditional ML and Generative AI initiatives.

Demonstrate specialized skills and standardized data science techniques, encompassing regression, segmentation, deep learning, feature selection and importance, and model explainability logging. Utilize expertise in designing and developing Retrieval Augmented Generation chatbot applications to enhance conversational AI capabilities.

Participate in data science modeling of complex business problems using statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques. What we’re looking for you to have

A Master’s degree or higher, in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.

1 – 5 years of working experience in a quantitative role, ideally in data science and machine learning field Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with a deep understanding of both traditional machine learning concepts and Generative AI concepts and algorithms, including experience with Azure OpenAI and Google for Generative AI.
