Our family is looking for a Dari tutor. Could it be you?
You
- Able to deliver mixed-age Dari reading, writing, and speaking lessons
- Available 3 hr/week
- 1 hr/week in-person (Bathurst and Finch)
- 2 hr/week online (0.5h sessions to reinforce learnings)
- Available for casual hangouts with family outside of lessons
- Immersing family in conversational Dari
- Available to work from July 2026 to December 2026
- Comfortable instructing adults
- Ability to travel to Bathurst and Finch area
- Strong documentation skills, providing progress reports
- Bonus: Experience teaching Dari reading, writing, and speaking
Us
We’re a family of four with varying levels of Dari. Our children are in middle school.
You’ll be working with them the most!
Compensation
- $40/hr for family group lessons + $30/hr for private lessons
- Paid monthly, invoice required
- Meals and hangs with the family as part of the teaching experience (time is paid for at in-person hourly rate)
Success Criteria
By Dec 2026
- Children can read and write at a Grade 5 level
- Children can speak conversationally
- Monthly progress reports, created by you
- Their level at the start of the month
- What’s been done
- Notable improvements and roadblocks
- Targets for next month
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
