We are looking for a Customs Classification Analyst to support the organization on key processes in international trade compliance by providing accurate product classification in a

fast-paced environment

, and applying efficient controls and corrective actions to maintain best-in-practice compliance practices. YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:  Support BRP product classification across all regions: NA, EMEA, LATAM and APAC. Provide technical information to support government audits and official requests worldwide.

Prepare documentation to support the

strategic decision-making

process among BRP stakeholders, but also with

respect

to authorities in the regulation and definition of the legal framework applicable to our products. Define, review and monitor product and material classifications provided by our business partner. Determine the BRP classification of finished goods, parts and accessories, components and raw materials. Participate in the documentation process to answer requests from customs authorities such as CF28, CF29 from CBP, but also from CBSA, SAT, and worldwide.

Support directives and initiatives from strategy classification to ensure BRP complies with ADD/CVD, based on classification, origin and open cases. Prepare technical documentation of Tariff Classification to support BRP analysis, considering alternative end uses, functionalities and technical features. Influence and support regional classification compliance strategies. Support multiple compliance factors such as origin and marking determination, applicable rules of origin for free trade benefits, management of surtaxes, exclusions, classification updates, etc.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:  A bachelor’s degree in business, international commerce or any other related field. High level of understanding/expertise in customs, distribution and manufacturing. 3–5 years in a customs brokerage with classification expertise. Strong technical skills in the field of Canadian as well as US Customs Compliance, especially in HS Classification;

Mexico expertise would be an asset. A current Canadian CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) designation would be an asset. Engineering knowledge or understanding would be an asset, especially in the automotive and other vehicle industries. Very good understanding of trade compliance terminology. Self-motivated and a high level of

autonomy

. The ability to manage stress and high-volume requests, and walk the extra mile to get the work done.

Strong computer skills, including data extraction between various software packages. Proficiency in Excel is essential;

Power BI would be an asset. SAP-GTS knowledge would be an asset. Fluency in French and English;

Spanish would be an asset.
