Job Title: Service Center Customer Service Representative
Reports to: Service Center Supervisor / Western Logistics Manager
Department: Sample Logistics
Location: Fort St John, BC
Full Time Contract May 2024 – December 2024
Basic Purpose:
Sample receipt, preparation of supplies and shipping related duties for all clients in support of the Sample Logistics Team. This position also includes administrative functions.
Key Accountability/Responsibilities:
Greet all clients in a friendly, positive manner
Receive all external client samples
Repack samples and arrange for shipments of all samples to the fixed labs.
Tracking shipments and escalating and investigating when issues arise
Coordinate with external providers such as courier services and hot-shots when required
Ensure proper daily communication of sample shipments to the fixed labs
Prepare bottle orders requests and coordinate delivery of bottle orders
Recognize routine and non-routine problems and escalate to the Supervisor
Ensure supply inventories are maintained
Maintain working area in a clean, safe and an organized manner
Ensure that all client requests are dealt with in a timely manner and escalated when needed
Proactively ensure overall satisfaction of regional client base including communication to customer service and supervisor as appropriate
Work closely with outside sales staff to grow Bureau Veritas’s market share with existing and new clients
Monitor/Calibrate the temperatures of fridges, thermometers and temperature guns
Adhere to Bureau Veritas’ quality systems QA/QC, SOPs and external accreditation requirements.
Adhere to Bureau Veritas’ safety policies.
On call responsibilities may be required based on location
All other responsibilities as assigned
Skills and Knowledge:
High School Diploma
Experience in a laboratory environment is considered an asset
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Excellent attention to detail
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
Ability to work independently as well as engage others when required in escalation of concerns to meet the client needs or to best manage client disappointments
Energetic and keen with a positive attitude who thrives in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking, prioritizing and adapting to changes are required
Working Conditions:
High level of work production in fast-paced lab environment
Flexible working hours, overtime and shift work, on call duties in some locations
Changing priorities and balancing workload to meet tight deadlines
Some lifting and carrying (up to 40 lbs) and may involve long periods of standing
Hazardous materials are handled using established safety procedures and appropriate equipment

The salary range for this role is $18-$19
Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
