Crew Lead, Utility & Excavation Jobs in North Logan, UT at Forefront General Contracting
Forefront GC is a growing excavation and utility contractor based in North Logan, Utah. We specialize in municipal waterline, sewer, and storm drain work. Most of our jobs are located in Cache Valley, though we also manage projects along the Wasatch Front and into Idaho, which requires some occasional travel.
We are hiring a Crew Lead to manage a small crew of one to three laborers and operators. This is a junior lead role where you will be responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, cleanly, and on schedule.
Responsibilities
– Lead a crew of 1–3 laborers and operators on a daily basis.
– Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and survey markers.
– Operate excavators, loaders, skid steers, and dozers.
– Install waterline, sewer, and storm drain systems to specifications.
– Coordinate tools, equipment, and materials for your site.
– Provide daily progress, issue, and needs reports to the project manager and superintendent.
– Mentor and train newer crew members.
– Submit daily work and progress reports.
– Travel overnight occasionally for out-of-area projects.
Qualifications
– Strong hands-on experience with utility excavation and installation.
– Proficiency in operating excavators, loaders, skid steers, and dozers.
– Demonstrated ability to lead a crew and maintain accountability.
– Commitment to both production and safety.
– Excellent communication skills with crews, project managers, and clients.
– Willingness to travel to the Wasatch Front and Idaho as needed.
– Valid driver’s license; a CDL is preferred but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
– Pay: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour, depending on experience.
– Schedule: 4-10 (Monday through Thursday).
