What you’ll do
- Supervise inmate activities during booking, housing, meals, recreation, and transport
- Conduct routine facility checks, headcounts, and searches
- Respond to emergencies and disturbances — staying calm when it matters most
- Write clear, accurate incident reports and maintain documentation
- Enforce facility rules and maintain a secure, orderly environment every shift
Who we’re looking for
- 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED
- Valid Kansas driver’s license with a clean record
- Able to pass a background check, drug/alcohol screening, physical, and psychological exam
- Strong communicator who stays level-headed in high-stress situations
- Available to work rotating shifts — days, nights, and overnights, including weekends and holidays. This is a 24/7 facility and scheduling flexibility is required.
Candidates with prior experience in corrections, law enforcement, security, or the military will receive strong preference in the hiring process.
