ABOUT THE ROLE

In this specialized and important role as the Corporate Communications Coordinator, you will be providing support through content communication, media relations, social media/web and publications. MUST HAVES

 A team-player with a positive attitude and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
 Exceptional writing, editing skill and highly effective verbal communication skills.
 Advanced understanding of digital communication platforms, social media management, corporate intranets, graphic design skills.
 Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software and proficiency in Web and/or desktop publishing software.
 Demonstrated ability to develop and implement communication and social media strategies and identify where communications can have an impact across the organization.  Successful completion of a post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Media or another related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 Minimum three years’ experience in a related role, preferably in the public service sector.  Ability to travel to offsite locations in a timely and efficient manner, as required.
 Ability to work outside regular business hours as required for the role.
 A strong work ethic and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and the community.
 Initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
 Valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license.

NICE-TO-HAVE

 Understanding of Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Youth Criminal Justice Act, Copyright Act, the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 (formerly the Police Services Act) as it pertains to the release of information and the Accessibility for Ontarians Disabilities Act (AODA).
